Joshua D. West
Joshua D. West is a lifelong resident of Oakland County. He is a graduate of both
The University of Michigan and The Wayne State University Law School. He holds a
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Sociology, as well as a Juris
Doctorate in Law. Moreover, Mr. West is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie training,
and a fellowship graduate in political leadership from Michigan State University.
Mr. West was a judicial law clerk for Chief Judge William E. Bolle of the 52nd District
Court. During his tenure as clerk, Mr. West not only mediated cases, but also consulted
and advised the judge, while handling communications within the office.
Mr. West is a former small business owner and sales manager for the Tandy Corporation.
Mr. West started a private law practice in Bloomfield Hills. His areas of practice
include criminal defense (both felonies and misdemeanors), all traffic matters,
divorce, child custody/support, business law, commercial and residential real estate,
contract, and corporate law. He has handled cases throughout the state of Michigan.
Mr. West also teaches for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and has been a guest
lecturer at Walsh College for the last three years.
In addition to practicing law, Mr. West is active within his community. He is a
former judge of the Miss Clawson pageant, and has served as treasurer and vice-chairman
of the Royal Oak Missionary Church. He currently serves as the President and Chairman of the Board
for the Northfield Hills Condominium Association. Additionally, he has coached and taught swimming
within the Troy School District for over fourteen years.
Mr. West is a former candidate for County Commissioner and State Representative.
Presently, Mr. West is a member of the Michigan State Bar, Oakland County Bar, and
the University of Michigan Alumni Association.
